How many UK businesses measure return on their design investment?

Only one in eight (13%) UK businesses have accounting procedures in place to measure return on design investment (RODI).

Businesses in the property, finance and business services sector are most likely to use these procedures. One in five do.

Surprisingly, business size makes little difference to whether return on design investment is measured.

In our survey, one in five businesses said they weren’t sure whether or not they had procedures in place to measure return on design investment.

For businesses which measure return on design investment (RODI), the most common method for doing so is as a percentage return. Over a third (37%) do this.
